Sturgis graduation ceremony held in the park

Twenty-one students were honoured during an outdoor ceremony.

STURGIS - Sturgis Composite School acknowledged its Grade 12 graduates in a special graduation ceremony held at the Sturgis Park on June 24.

Graduates were surrounded by family and close friends as they celebrated their achievements at the park.

Members of the 2022 graduation class were, Seth Hort, Austin Fedorchuk, Tylan Kucharyshen, Denzel Vargas, Austin Bartch, Daniell Mirva, Hunter Mirva, Taylor Kucharyshen, Allison Peterson, Nolan Westermann, Annias Schotts, Kylie Babiuk, Danika Soltys, Brynn Babiuk, Paige Hansen, Brett Smith, Allyssa Mirva, Sierra Karcha, Keannu Albarracin, Camron Secundiak and Alexis Vidomski.

Kelsey Newman and Kristen Peterson bot teachers at the Sturgis Composite School had the honor of introducing each graduate who arrived by vehicle prior to being escorted by their parents to the stage area.

Taylor Kucharyshen escorted by his parents April and Cory and his future plans are to stay back and year and then get into heavy duty mechanics at Polytech.

Keannu Albarracin was escorted by his parents Francis and Kristella and has future plan  to attend Sask Polytech in Moose Jaw studying Electrical engineering technology.

Brynn Babiuk was escorted by her parents Cory and Tammy and she has future plans to attend the University of Saskatchewan in the college of dentistry to attain her dental assistant certificate.

Kylie Babiuk escorted by her parents Keith and Trudy and she is enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan in the college of Education. 

Austin Bartch was accompanied by his mom Amber and has future plans to be the fourth generation building mover.

Allyssa Mirva was escorted by her parents Fran and Kirby and she has future plans  to move to Saskatoon and see where life takes her.

Austin Fedorchuk was escorted by his parents Amanda and Dustin and has future plans to take a year off and work before going to university to further his education.

Paige Hansen was accompanied by her mother Michelle and her future plans are to attend the University of Saskatchewan pursuing a biology degree and then continue her education and get a four year honors degree in pharmacy.

Seth Hort was accompanied by his parents Theresa and Jeff and his future plans are to work a year with Venture Construction and then go to university somewhere to receive a business or economics degree, or to go into the trades. 

Sierra Karcha was escorted by her father Bobby Karcha and Marsha Bobyk and her future plans are to become a registered nurse. 

Tylan Kucharyshen was escorted by his parents April and Cory.

Allison Peterson was escor6ed by her parents Misty and Jason and her future plans are to travel to historic countries, attend school to become a dental assistant and later to pursue becoming a hygienist.

Annias Schotts was accompanied by her parents April and Devin and has future plans to get an education degree in Early childhood education and to continue to work in a daycare or move on to teach elementary students.

Camron Secundiak was escorted by his parents Blair and Charlene and Camron has  future plans to attend Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Moose Jaw enrolling in Electrical Engineering technology.

Brett Smith was accompanied by his parents Kerrie and Croy and has future plans to attend Sask Poytech in Saskatoon to become an Industrial Mechanic.  

Daniell Mirva joined by his parents Fran and Kirby has future plans to work after he is done school.

Danika Soltys together with her parents Levi and Marina has future plans to study business at Sask Polytech.

Denzel Vargas  was escorted by his parents Amelita and Ariel and has future plans to study computer science at the University of Saskatchewan.

Alexis Vidomski joined by her mom Sara Vidomski and Joe Boucher has future plans to continue working at Rawhides for a few years and then attend culinary school and travel abroad to learn more.

Nolan Westermann was accompanied by his mom Linda and has future plans to get a job and enjoy his life.

Hunter Mirva was escorted by his parents Fran and Kirby and his future plans are to become an electrician and make money.

Graduates Kylie Babiuk and Brynn Babiuk were the mistress of ceremonies for the evening.

Chris Balyski, the board trustee for the Good Spirit School division brought greetings from the board after Kipp Bayer, principal spoke briefly on the accomplishments of the graduates.

Kristen Peterson, Kipp Bayer and Kelsey Newman presented the graduation scrolls followed by Micheal Andrusko giving a fun roast to the graduates.

Brett Smith and Keannu Albarracin gave the thank you their fellow graduates.

Seth Hort gave the thank you to the teachers with a reply from Megan Hulburt teacher.

Brynn Babiuk gave the thank you to the parents followed by the reply by her mom, Tammy .

Danika Soltys, Allison Peterson and Sierra Karcha presented the Remember When memories of the graduation class.

Nathan Hrynchyshyn was the guest speaker for the evening.

Kylie Babiuk gave the valedictorian address.

Kristen Peterson and Kelsey Newman presented the awards and scholarship portion of the program.

The graduation ceremony concluded with a grand march, and an escort and parent dance.
