YORKTON – Cornerstone Credit Union is one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers for an eighth consecutive year.

The winners of the annual competition were announced March 12 by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

The designation recognizes the Saskatchewan employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

Cornerstone Credit Union was selected as one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers for several reasons, including:

• a defined contribution pension plan and assistance on day-to-day expenses, such as employee banking benefits and discounts.

• a variety of alternative working options, including flexible hours, hybrid work, shortened and compressed work weeks, and personal days.

• encouraging employee involvement with one paid day off to volunteer, as well as offering matching charitable donations.

“Cornerstone Credit Union is a great place to work and build a career,” said Doug Jones, Cornerstone Credit Union CEO in a release.

“The people who work here make all the difference for our members. We put a lot of effort into attracting and retaining great employees to serve our members and help us give back to our communities," added Jones.

Employers are evaluated on eight criteria:

  1. Workplace
  2. Work Atmosphere & Social
  3. Health, Financial & Family Benefits
  4. Vacation & Time Off
  5. Employee Communications
  6. Performance Management
  7. Training & Skills Development
  8. Community Involvement
