RCMP seek information on theft of traditional Indigenous regalia

The theft is believed to have occurred between May and June 4, from House 903 in Kawacatoose First Nation.

PUNNICHY — On June 6, Punnichy RCMP received the report of a theft of traditional Indigenous regalia from House 903 in Kawacatoose First Nation.

Punnichy RCMP officers met with the occupants of the house on the same day and have been searching for the regalia ever since. At this time, the regalia has not been located and police officers are asking for the public’s assistance.

The theft is believed to have occurred between May and June 4, from House 903 in Kawacatoose First Nation.

The stolen regalia includes three items. They are described as:

  • a white eagle fan
  • a blue and white beaded beret with feathers
  • a blue and white breastplate with feathers

Kawacatoose First Nation is located approximately 130 km north of Regina and 10 km east of Highway 6.
