Yorkton 4-H Regional Show highlight at Ex'

YORKTON - As has become traditional at the Yorkton Summer Fair the Yorkton 4-H Regional Show was a highlight of day one activities Wednesday.

The show – actually held over two days July 1 and 2, saw judge Karl Sauter picking the top cattle from members of 4-H clubs from throughout the region.

The Champion overall female was one by an entry from Trinitie Beres, a two-year-old female with calf at foot. Beres is from the Goodeve 4-H Club.

The Reserve overall champion female was shown by Mara Vogel of the Springside 4-H Club, again with a two-year-old female with calf at foot.

The Champion yearling female was Kierra Hawreluik of the Sheho 4-H Club with an angus entry.

The Reserve yearling female was shown by Hannah Hoberg from the Yellowhead 4-H Club with an angus cross female.

The overall Grand Champion Steer was shown by Cort Simpson from the Yellowhead Club. Heartland Livestock would buy the champion in the event ending steer sale.

Overall Reserve Grand Champion Steer was Cassidy Beres from the Goodeve Club. Her animal sold to Legacy Co-op.

Champion breeder’s herd was Trinitie Beres of the Goodeve 4-H club, while Reserve was Mara Vogel of the Springside Club.

Day 2 Champion steer was Cort Simpson of the Yellowhead 4-H Club, with a steer weighing 1,505 pounds.

The Reserve champion steer was shown by Cassidy Beres with her steer weighing 1,401 pounds.

Champion Showmanship was won by Porter Wolkowski of the Good Spirit 4-H Club, while Reserve champion was won by Mackena Kriger of the Springside Club.

Goodeve Multiple 4-H club won best barn display and best four market animals.
