Yorkton Army Cadets conduct Annual Ceremonial Review

Cadets participated in community support, field training, expeditions, leadership training, a ceremonial dinner, snowshoeing, first aid, marksmanship and band clinics over past year.

YORKTON – 2834 64th Field Battery Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps held their Annual Ceremonial Review Saturday, June 5th at the Yorkton Armouries. 

Reviewing Officer was Marcel Dagenais, Secretary of the Army Cadet League of Saskatchewan. The League partners with the Department of National Defence to provide the program at no cost to cadets and is represented locally by the 2834 RCACC Support Committee, led by President Liela Falkowski and Treasurer Tracy Greba. 

Falkowski and Greba have volunteered for many years to help organize and fund the program behind the scenes and are stepping down this year. 

This past year cadets participated in community support, field training, expeditions, leadership training, a ceremonial dinner, snowshoeing, first aid, marksmanship and band clinics.

Cadets is a national program aimed at youth aged 12–19. The program helps develop skills that will help youth transition into adulthood, from good citizenship, leadership, and a focus on physical fitness, Cadets have experiences that you don’t find anywhere else.

Cadets of the 2834 64th Field Battery inlclude Master Warrant Officer Maria Erhaze, Warrant Officer Condoleeza Erhaze, Warrant Officer Timothy Wild, Sergeant Al Kakakaway, Master Bombardier Colton Bletsky, Master Bombardier Kaiden Dumais, Master Bombardier Rogue Durdin, Master Bombardier Renée McInnes, Master Bombardier Deason Smyth, Master Bombardier Treyvin Smyth, Master Bombardier Matthew Wantang, Bombardier Ari Smyth, Bombardier Chioma Wantang, Gunner Enoch Erhaze, and Gunner Amarachi Wantang.

Staff of the 2834 64th Field Battery include Captain Colin McInnes, Commanding Officer, Civilian Instructor Al Dobko, Supply Officer, Civilian Instructor Phoonan Dursun, Administration Officer, and Major (Retired) Ron Haskell, Instructor.

Master Bombardier Colton Bletsky is heading to Gagetown, New Brunswick to participate in Expedition Member Training

Master Bombardier Renée McInnes is going to Vernon, BC to participate in Marksmanship Instructor Training

Gunners Enoch Erhaze and Amarachi Wantang, and Bombardiers Ari Smyth and Chioma Wantang are going to Camp Saskadet to participate in the Cadet Activity Program

Master Warrant Officer Maria Erhaze will be heading to Camp Saskadet to teach the Cadet Activity Program
