Yorkton Culture days set to kick off Sept. 22

More than 40 free to attend events scheduled for the Sept. 22 to Oct. 15 celebrations.

YORKTON – Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture happening in Yorkton and over 300 communities across Canada for three weeks starting Sept. 22 through Oct. 15.

Organizers of more than 40 separate, free to attend, events are artists and arts and culture organizations from our community that have been planning an amazingly diverse collection of arts and culture hands-on experiences.

There is something for everyone. From Sidewalk drawing, heritage scavenger hunt, Jamaican Cooking, Willow Weaving, Dance and Theatre classes to T-Rag Rug making and so much more.

Events are happening at locations throughout the City of Yorkton over the three-week celebration. Culture Days Yorkton organizers are also very excited about a new partnership with Parkland Mall. Kim Spilchen, Parkland Mall Manager, is very interested in supporting community events such as ours and has generously offered dedicated space at the Mall for event programming and all things Culture Days.

The public is invited to join us for an official Kick-Off event at Parkland Mall on September 22nd  at 10:30 am. We have invited local partners, dignitaries and event organizers for a ribbon cutting.

While at the Kick-Off event you are also invited to visit the “creation station”, where you will be able to get inspiration or create your very own gratitude feather to include in a community wide art collaboration, “Wings of Gratitude.”.
