Yorkton This Week

The first full year of the Parkland Association of Disc Golf was an amazing one of growth across the entire region.

Some books serve their life well, and need to move on. Old dictionaries, outdated encyclopedias, aged reference materials and so on, they don’t have much of a use anymore.

If there weren’t already lots of reasons to dislike new U.S. President Donald Trump, he seems to be providing new ones each day. Trump added to his bombast in his presidential inaugural address by suggesting that Americans were living in carnage.

The Yorkton Kinsmen Midget AA Terriers play in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League. They are currently sitting in the second place spot in their league of 13 teams.

On this day in 1928 Yorkton officially became a city.

Last weekend, Yorkton Regional High School was one of twelve schools who played in the 7th annual York City Classic senior boys’ basketball tournament. YRHS and Sacred Heart High School hosted the tournament.

Ethan Holstein is a 13-year-old cadet from Yorkton. He is with the 2517 Melville Legion Army Cadet Corps.
