Canada-wide warrant for Regina murder suspect

Man has ties to Calgary and Winnipeg, police say.

REGINA – Police are searching for a man wanted for a first-degree murder that happened last weekend in Regina.

'Juma' Daniel Drie Atem, 30, is a suspect in the July 29 murder in the 2100 block of Broad Street. Police aren't releasing the victim's name at this time, but are asking the public to report any sightings of Atem.

"Atem is described as having a dark complexion, thin build, 6’3” tall, roughly 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes," said RPS in a media release.

While his current whereabouts are unknown, Atem has ties to Calgary and Winnipeg, and police believe he may have travelled to either city.

"Anyone who sees 'Juma' Daniel Drie Atem is advised not to have contact with him, but rather to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477," said RPS.
