Investigators consulted with a forensic anthropologist and pathologist, who examined the remains. Investigators also notified loved ones of individuals who were previously reported missing in the Canora area and had not yet been located.

Neuman was reported missing Dec. 20, 2023 after Canora RCMP received a request to perform a well-being check on an adult male at a residence on Roslyn Avenue in Canora. Officers checked the residence and did not find the adult male. It was determined that he had not been observed at the residence in several days and it was believed he may be injured and in need of urgent medical attention. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Traffic Services, Police Dog Services and Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems, as well as conservation officers from the Provincial Protective Services Branch all assisted in the search.

Investigators even thought he may have travelled to British Columbia and asked residents there to watch out for him.
