Residents asked to check their cameras.

REGINA – Police are asking the public for any information that might aid in their investigation after a pair of brazen robbery attempts at gunpoint.

The incidents occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 23, with the first call coming in minutes before 3 a.m. to the 4000 block of Retallack Street.

“Police arrived to the dispatch area and learned that a couple sitting in their vehicle were approached by at least two persons, one of whom had a long-barrelled firearm,” said the Regina Police Service in a press release. “The victims exited their vehicle and fled on foot.”

While the suspects managed to obtain a purse and several bank cards, nobody was hurt in the incident.

A second call for service came a half hour later, this time in the 2800 block of Lakeview Avenue.

“Police arrived to the dispatch area and learned that shortly after 3 a.m., two women sitting in their vehicle were approached by a male holding a long-barrelled firearm,” RPS noted. “The driver of the car drove off with no further incident and no one was hurt.”

Residents in the area are asked to check video surveillance devices for activity that might aid in this ongoing investigation. Anyone with information on these incidents can contact the RPS at 306 777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
