REGINA – A 54-year-old Regina man made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on sexual assault charges against children at a Regina business.

Naveed Irshad is charged with two counts each of sexual interference and sexual assault of children under 16. His matter was adjourned on Feb. 13 until Feb. 27.

Regina police say that they launched their investigation in January after getting a report that two girls, ages 12 and 13, had been sexually assaulted by an employee of a business in the 400 block of Albert Street North. They told police they were assaulted in a back room of the business, which offers entertainment to children, and alleged that Irshad was calling and texting them for several weeks prior.

If anyone has information that could assist this investigation, they are asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500.
