P. A. police make arrest in Ponch Bird's murder

PRINCE ALBERT – On Aug. 17, Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) arrested an 18-year-old man for the murder of 42-year-old Ponch Tyson Thomas Bird on July 22. Garrisen Clarke made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Aug. 18 on charges of second-degree murder, attempted murder, and discharging a firearm with intent on a second victim.

On Aug. 8, PAPS Criminal Investigation Division arrested 36-year-old Loni McCuaig in relation to the same incident. She was charged with assault with a weapon and appeared in court Aug. 9.
