LA RONGE – A preliminary hearing will be held in Wollaston Lake Circuit Court in November for a 56-year-old Hatchet Lake man who is charged in connection to his son’s death. The hearing will determine if there's enough evidence for him to stand trial.
Donald Mercredi Sr. was charged with manslaughter after police were called to a home on Hatchet Lake First Nation for a report of an altercation on Nov. 16, 2022.
When police arrived, they found 28-year-old Donald Mercredi Jr. injured and he was declared deceased at the scene.
