RCMP WEST arrests wanted man Craig McDonald

MONTREAL LAKE/WASKESIU – Update: On Sept. 22, RCMP WEST determined Craig McDonald was in a residence on Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.

Investigators obtained a warrant to enter the residence and arrest McDonald. With the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), officers approached the residence and surrounded it. McDonald exited the residence, holding a loaded firearm. He resisted arrest and officers deployed a conducted energy weapon to bring him into custody safely.

Montreal Lake/Waskesiu RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) have been checking places Craig McDonald has been known to visit and are following-up on information received. Investigators are now asking the public to report information on McDonald’s whereabouts.

McDonald is 6-feet tall and 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. 

Investigators believe Craig McDonald may be in the Montreal Lake Cree Nation and Prince Albert area, but this can’t be confirmed.

Police say if you see Craig McDonald, do not approach him.
