Regina men facing child porn charges released

Sexual assaults occurred over almost five-year span.

REGINA –  Two men facing child porn charges have been released on conditional orders.

The men appeared in Regina Provincial Court via telephone on April 25, being held in custody since being arrested on April 18.

As a result of an investigation between the Regina Children’s Justice Centre, the Saskatchewan Integrated Child Exploitation Unit, and the Regina Police Service Vice Unit, the men were alleged to have sexually assaulted a young female victim over a period of several years. The offences ranged from April 1, 2017 to Dec. 27, 2022 with a total of 13 charges between the two men.

They were released on a total of 13 conditions, including not to possess any device to access the internet, except for employment or to take part in educational programs (with further conditions), no contact with anyone under the age of 16 or attend public places where people under 18 are expected to be present, and no contact with named individuals.

The matter will next be heard in Regina Provincial Court on May 9.
