Saskatoon police investigating third homicide of 2024

48-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival at hospital.

SASKATOON — Saskatoon Police Service says their Major Crime Section is investigating a homicide that occurred overnight.

At approximately 12:25 am, Feb. 17, patrol officers responded to an injured person in a home on the 200 block of Avenue I South. At the scene, officers located a 48-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to hospital for treatment, however succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Next of kin has been notified and police are not releasing the name of the deceased at this time. The 48-year-old male victim and suspect are known to each other.

The Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections continue to investigate Saskatoon's 3rd homicide of 2024.
