Sound of gunshots leads Regina police to charge four people

Police entered a residence to search for injured persons and found four occupants, none of whom had sustained injury.

REGINA — Three young adults have been charged with discharging a firearm after a series of gunshots was heard in Regina.

On the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 15, at approximately 4:20 p.m., police were dispatched to the 900 block of Athol Street for the report of a firearms offence. Loud sounds consistent with gunshots were heard coming from a residence.

Police arrived and checked the residence, finding a recently broken window. Police entered the residence to search for injured persons and found four occupants, none of whom had sustained injury. A search revealed a shotgun, ammunition, and spent casings. The four occupants were arrested and after further investigation, charged for the following firearms offences:

A 25 year old was charged with careless storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

A 31 year old was charged with discharging a firearm in a reckless manner and unauthorized possession of a firearm

A 24 year old was charged with discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing its possession unauthorized and possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order.

A 21 year old was charged with discharging a firearm in a reckless manner and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
