Strasbourg man allegedly pulls knife on Regina cab driver

Police arrest and charge suspect with weapons offences.

REGINA – Some people hail a cab by waving, others whistle loudly, but, allegedly, one Strasbourg man decided to brandish a knife at the driver upon exiting a cab in Regina.

The incident happened on Jan. 29, just before 10 p.m. in the area of 14th Avenue and Robinson Street, where police were told the man was “standing outside a taxi in possession of a knife, waving it towards the taxi driver” after bringing the now weaponized passenger to his destination.

Police were able to arrest the man without incident, charging Kolton Barr, 28, with fraudulently obtaining transportation, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Barr is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Jan. 30.
