PRINCE ALBERT – Police have arrested a third-person in the death of 29-year-old Jeremy Starblanket in March 2021.

On Feb. 23 Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested 25-year-old Keyano Ahenakew from the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation and charged him with first-degree murder. He appeared in Prince Albert court Friday and his matter was adjourned to March 17.

On Feb. 22, Henry Ratt, 26, of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Thursday morning. He is back in court on March 16.

In July 2021, Loretta Sakebow was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Her matter has gone to Prince Albert Court of King’s Bench to set a trial date.

Prince Albert police say Starblanket’s body was found at the scene of a house fire in the 500 block of 5 Street East in Prince Albert. Prince Albert Fire Department said the explosion at the house blew the building off of its foundation.

Members with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team assisted with this investigation.

The Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division say they continue to investigate.
