SASKATOON - Two youth were arrested Thursday morning following a series of mischief in areas near the University of Saskatchewan.
In the early morning hours of Jan. 26, police responded to the 1000 block of Colony Street for a report of persons vandalizing vehicles. When police arrived, two male youths were located and arrested nearby. They were found to be in possession of bladed weapons, say police. A search of the area identified at least 18 vehicles with punctured tires and police believe there may be more.
As a result, two 15-year-old males from Saskatoon have been charged with 18 counts of willful damage to property and weapons-related offences.
Police are encouraging residents in the area bordered by Saskatchewan Crescent East, College Drive, Cumberland Avenue South, and 14th Street East to inspect their vehicles for vandalism.
Anyone wishing to report related vandalism or with information otherwise believed to be relevant is asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 and reference occurrence number 23-11117.
