Two arrested in Regina after Cameron St. police operation

RPS execute search warrant on suspected drug trafficking residence.

REGINA – Details have emerged regarding a recent police operation on the 800 block of Cameron Street, which led to a public advisory to avoid that area of the city during the afternoon of Aug 10.

A search warrant was executed on a home, noting the involvement of the RPS Street Gangs Unit, Property Crimes Unit, and the SWAT Unit.

"There was reason to believe the occupants of the residence were involved in drug trafficking and were in possession of firearms and stolen property," said RPS in a media release.

A man and woman were arrested as a result of the operation, and police seized a number of items from the home, including a loaded .22 calibre sawed-off rifle, nunchakus, 18 grams of fentanyl, 25 grams of cocaine, 25 grams of methamphetamine, and a quantity of cash.

Erin Peigan, 40, and Landon Pura, 39, were jointly charged with three counts each possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine), possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm knowing the serial number had been tampered with, and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.

Pura faces a further three counts possession of a prohibited firearm.

Both Peigan and Pura made their first appearances on this matter in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 11.
