Waseca man charged with trafficking fentanyl granted bail

Arrest came after Saskatchewan and Alberta RCMP teamed up on a four-day round up targeting gangs, drugs, and repeat offenders.

LLOYDMINSTER – A Waseca man, 54-year-old Todd Antonenko, who is accused of trafficking fentanyl had a show cause hearing July 27 in Lloydminster, Sask. provincial court and was granted bail. He is now scheduled to appear in court Aug. 28 to enter an election.

Antonenko was arrested after police forces in Saskatchewan and Alberta teamed up on a four-day round up targeting gangs, drugs, and repeat offenders.

During a traffic stop on Antonenko July 19, police seized 120 grams of suspected cocaine, 12.6 grams of suspected fentanyl and $600 cash. Antonenko was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000.

Thirty people were arrested during the joint police action by Lloydminster RCMP Crime reduction Unit, Lloydminster RCMP General Investigations Section, North Battleford RCMP Crime Reduction Team, Lloydminster RCMP Police Dog Unit , Eastern Alberta RCMP CRU, Vermilion RCMP Traffic Unit, RCMP Air Services, and Lloydminster Bylaw Enforcement.
