NORTH BATTLEFORD — When the staff in the front office of the Battlefords Humane Society heard yelping and crying from outside, they ran out to find three puppies tied to their fence, abandoned.

The pups were completely tangled in the rope and one was so tight he couldn’t breathe, states a Facebook post by the society.

The society is asking the public for help. They need volunteers to foster dogs and donations of puppy food.

“We are becoming overrun with dogs and again are in need of emergency fosters and puppy food! Please, if you can help contact us!” says the Facebook post. You can phone them at 306-446-2704 or email them at battlefordshumanesociety@sasktel.net

Update: The Battlefords Humane Society says fosters have been found for the three abandoned puppies.
