An early summer storm flattened fields from Macklin to Wilkie, damaged siding on many houses in the area, and broke a number of windows on the Holy Rosary Church in Reward.

Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Saskatoon, Rod Andrews, drove an antique John Deere tractor, across the province, arriving at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Wilkie, June 14. Following lunch there, he drove it to Unity where he was met with a crowd of people waiting at the salt plant forming a parade all the way to the Unity museum grounds where he and his “Trekkers” were able to stay overnight.

Track hoes were brought in to help with the demolition of the former co-op hardware store.
