Livestock on the loose: RCMP called in for assistance

RCMP Report – Dec.19 – Jan. 1

Unity Report

RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision in Unity. There were no injuries and no charges were laid. Reported for insurance purposes.

A 20-year-old man from Unity was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop.

RCMP received a complaint of a dog barking. The complaint was referred to the bylaw officer.

A 45-year-old man from the Unity area was charged with two counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of uttering threats, careless use of a firearm, and two counts of assault while choking after members received a firearm complaint.

Police received a report of a cow on the highway. Members located the owner of the animal.

Members issued a 72-hour roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

There were also two traffic complaints, three false alarms and three false 911 calls.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a complaint of theft but it was unfounded.

Police received a complaint of a hit and run causing damage to a vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of a driver spinning vehicle tires and sending a rock through a residence window. Members located the subject of the complaint and issued two traffic tickets. The subject of the complaint also agreed to pay for the window damage.

Members conducted a property check at the request of a neighbour.

RCMP are investigating a sexual assault complaint.

There was also one traffic complaint.

Macklin Report

RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members issued a 72-hour roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

Police received a report of an individual not complying with a release order condition. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision in Macklin. There were no injuries and no charges were laid. Reported for insurance purposes.

Police received a complaint of trespassing. The individual had left the area. Reported for information purposes.

Members received a complaint of assault but it was unfounded.

RCMP acted as mediator in a family dispute.

Members acted as mediators in a child custody dispute.

There were also two false alarms and one traffic complaint.

Jan. 2 – Jan. 8

Unity Report

RCMP conducted a well-being check at the request of a family friend.

Members conducted another well-being check at the request of a family member.

Police received a complaint of harassing communications. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.

Members received a request to assist Emergency Medical Services with a patient.

RCMP received a request to assist medical staff at Unity and District Health Centre with a patient.

Police are investigating a complaint of theft.

There were also four false alarms and one traffic complaint.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a report of a pig in the ditch. A local farmer retrieved the animal.

Police received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.

Members spoke to an individual about a child welfare concern.

RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision. There were no injuries and no charges were laid. Reported for information purposes.

Members acted as mediators between two adults.

Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.

RCMP received a report of an individual not complying with a probation order condition. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a Child Welfare Act complaint. Child and Family Services was notified. This matter is still under investigation.

There was also one traffic complaint.

Macklin Report

RCMP issued a 60-day roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

An 18-year-old male from Macklin was charged with assault, break and enter and mischief after Members received a complaint of a break and enter at a residence.

Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. The subject of the complaint was transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services.

Members received a request to assist Emergency Medical Services with a patient.

RCMP received a complaint of theft from a motor vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

Cut Knife Report – Jan. 1 - 14

RCMP received a complaint of an individual banging on the side of a residence. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of the complaint.

A youth was charged with assault on a police officer with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a police officer, failure to stop after an accident and two counts of mischief after members attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle driver fled.

Police received a complaint of an intoxicated individual at a residence. Members transported the subject of the complaint to cells until sober. 

A youth was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking condition after members discovered them breaching a no-contact condition.

RCMP received a complaint of theft but it was unfounded.

A 45-year-old man from Edmonton was charged with resisting a peace officer after members received several 911 calls from a motel. The individual was also issued a ticket under the Emergency 911 System Act.

Members received a request from a family member to conduct a well-being check. The complainant cancelled the request.

Police received a complaint of trespassing but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members attended but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a complaint of an individual driving a side-by-side into a residence door. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of the complaint. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

A 52-year-old man from Cut Knife was charged with failure to comply with a release order condition after Members conducted a curfew check.

Police received a complaint of an individual failing to comply with conditions of a release order but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received a complaint of assault. A 36-year-old man from North Battleford, a 34-year-old woman from Poundmaker First Nation, a 21-year-old woman from Little Pine First Nation and a 25-year-old man from Saskatoon were each charged with aggravated assault and assault while choking. A 33-year-old woman from Little Pine First Nation was also charged with aggravated assault, assault while choking and two counts of failure to comply with release order conditions.

Members are investigating a complaint of sexual assault.

A 53-year-old man from Little Pine First Nation was charged with weapons possession contrary to order, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and removal of a vehicle identification number after members received a report of an abandoned vehicle.

Police spoke to an individual regarding a child custody order.

RCMP received a complaint of theft but it was unfounded.

Members received a complaint of uttering threats but it was unfounded.

A youth was charged with failing to comply after members conducted a curfew check.

Police received a request to assist Emergency Medical Services with a patient.

RCMP received a complaint of an individual damaging property at a residence. The complainant declined to proceed.

Members are investigating a complaint of assault.

Police received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of a stolen vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

A 33-year-old woman from North Battleford was charged with assault after members received a complaint of assault.

Members received a report of an individual taking a motor vehicle without consent. The vehicle was returned and the complainant declined to proceed.

Police received a complaint of theft but it was unfounded.

RCMP received a complaint of an intoxicated individual at a residence. Members transported the subject of the complaint to cells until sober. 

Members received a complaint of assault but it was unfounded.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was not stolen and was not a traffic hazard.

A 38-year-old man from Poundmaker First Nation was charged with failing to comply with release order conditions after members conducted a curfew check.

RCMP received a complaint of trespassing. Members informed the complainant that the issue was a civil matter.

Members received a complaint of theft but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

A 32-year-old woman from Marsden was charged with failing to comply with undertaking conditions after members conducted a curfew check.

RCMP received a complaint of an individual not complying with the conditions of a probation order. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. Emergency Medical Services transported the subject of the complaint to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Members received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members attended but the subject of complaint was gone on arrival. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a complaint of an intoxicated individual at a residence. Members transported the subject of the complaint to cells.

There were also five traffic complaints and seven false alarms.
