Two killed in crash near Fort Qu'Appelle

Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP continues to investigate with assistance from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

FORT QU'APPELLE — Two people died and three more were injured in a two-car crash west of Fort Qu’Appelle Tuesday evening.

On Dec. 12 at approximately 7:50 p.m., Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 10, west of Fort Qu’Appelle.

Initial investigation determined two cars collided. The driver and sole occupant of one car was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as an 83-year-old female from Yorkton. Her family has been notified.

The driver of the other car was also declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 53-year-old male from Lestock. His family has been notified.

There were three passengers in the car. One was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious. The remaining two were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Highway 10 was closed during initial investigation but has since re-opened. Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP continues to investigate with assistance from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

This story has included a correction from RCMP that the location was west, not east, of Fort Qu'Appelle.
