WEYBURN - The City of Weyburn Walk of Fame Committee is anticipating the upcoming induction ceremony honouring Curt Minard in June.

Minard is an accomplished athlete, representing Weyburn at national and international levels, including the 2018 Paralympic Games in PyeongChang.

He turned triumph into tragedy after losing his left hand, suffering extensive third degree burns from an industrial workplace accident.

His unwavering passion and remarkable accomplishments in both his career and athletics embody the essence of Weyburn’s identity, making him a deserving candidate as the latest inductee to the Walk of Fame.

Although Minard retired from active competition in 2020, he continues to inspire others through his captivating journey as a highly sought-after motivational speaker.

The induction ceremony will take place outdoors, commencing at 2 p.m. on June 17, just outside City Hall located on Third Street NE, during the annual Weyburn Car Show.

The event promises to be a momentous occasion as the inductee will be present for the ceremony.
