The Yorkton Terriers found a point in an overtime loss this week, but it was not enough to pull them out of last place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

The Terriers sit with a record of 14-25-3-3 for 34 points, nine back of Estevan with 43 in the League’s Viterra Division. Weyburn has 44 points, while Melville leads with 48.

Friday the Terriers were in Wilcox to face the Notre Dame Hounds.

Austin Lightfoot gave the host Hounds the first lead of the game 8:03 into the second, but that was quickly matched as Daylan Gatzke  scored for the Terriers at 12:52.

The third period was scoreless sending the 1-1 game into a five-minute, four-on-four overtime.

Evan Werle would send the Notre Dame faithful home happy as he scored the game-winner with a powerplay effort 2:45 into extra time.

Dawson MacAuley was in the Terrier net facing 45-shots in the loss, while Benjamin Patt faced 35 in the win.

Saturday Yorkton headed to Humboldt to face the team they are chasing for the final playoff spot in the SJHL.

It was a night the Broncos would not be broke.

They jumped out of the bucking chute quick as Gray Marr scored 2:16 into the game, a goal which would ultimately prove the game-winner as the Terriers failed to score on 25-shots, on a shared shut-out between Ryan LaRochelle and Jack Romanuik.

Jarrett Fontaine and Colton Laroque would also score in the first to give Humboldt a 3-0 lead.

Fontaine would be back to add the only goal of the second period.

In the third Jon Brumwell and Joshua Bergen would add goals in the 6-0 romp.

MacAuley faced 47-shots in the Terrier net.
