NORTH BATTLEFORD - A valued member of North Battleford city administration has passed away.

Mayor David Gillan announced during Tuesday’s council meeting at Don Ross Centre that Tammy MacCormack, who had served as the city’s Environmental Manager and as Assistant Director of Utility Services, has died.

She had been employed by the City of North Battleford for the past decade and been a key member on a number of initiatives, particularly in connection to the city’s waste management efforts.

“She had been battling cancer for a number of years and succumbed to her cancer last night,” said Gillan.

“Only 49 years old, so much to still live, it’s such a sad day in our City. Our condolences to her family on behalf of council, the whole city. I remember her sitting around the table, I worked with her too at the City -- it’s just hard to believe, such a young age could be gone.”
