BATTLEFORDS AREA — Update: At 3:03 p.m. CST, the tornado warning is cancelled.
Update: At 5:24 PM CST Doppler RADAR indicated that this severe thunderstorm was located about 10 km northwest of Delmas and was moving toward the east at 10 km/h.
In addition to a tornado, this severe thunderstorm will be capable of producing:
- hail to the size of loonies
- straight-line wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h

- R.M. of Meota including Meota and The Battlefords Prov. Park
- R.M. of Turtle River including Edam and Vawn
This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.
Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes.
Original post: At 5:26 p.m. Central Standard Time Thursday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for West Central Saskatchewan. Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Rabbit Lake, The Battlefords Park, Edam and Paynton.
Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds and large hail are also possible.
