Battlefords RCMP responded to 63 calls for service over this time period Thursday, July 13, 6 a.m. – Friday, July 14, 6 a.m., including but not limited to the following: 7:10 p.m. Police called to a sighting of a stolen vehicle.

The scores are in from the 91st annual Jr. Men’s golf tournament at Chinook Golf Course in Swift Current. After play closed on Wednesday, Kristian Houk of North Battleford finished the tournament in a three-way tie for 10th place at plus-11.

Prairie North Health Region is reporting the in-house heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system is functioning again at Lloydminster Hospital following a storm that flooded the facility last month.

Community safety officers in North Battleford now have expanded powers to investigate low-risk offences in the city.

Summer School for the Solo Voice wraps up this weekend at Third Avenue United Church in North Battleford. Running through to July 15, the program is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

By the Club Reporters Eagle Hills Multiple 4-H Club has had an extremely busy spring. The club was active in organizing and participating in Club, District, Regional and Provincial Public Speaking.

I am writing this is lieu of Canada’s 150th Birthday. This is a story about my mother’s ancestors and how they came to Canada, and specifically, to the Battlefords area.
