This year, the 73rd annual Battlefords 4-H Regional Show was held on Saturday, June 10, at the Battlefords Exhibition Grounds. It was a fun-filled day for all our 4-H competitors who came out and competed in their select projects.

For the second year in a row, the North Battleford Sectional Tournament for bridge was held at the Gold Eagle Casino’s banquet room. North Saskatchewan Unit 575 and the North Battleford and Meota bridge clubs hosted the event.

April 13, 1936 – May 24, 2017. Ever kind, Ever True, Mom is lovingly remembered and will be forever missed. Mom passed away peacefully with her family by her side at North Battleford Union Hospital. Mom cherished her family and friends.

Joyce was called home to her Heavenly Father on June 28, 2017. She was born to Joseph and Sylvia Sadlowski on September 27, 1942 on the homestead in the Sich district, Krydor SK.

On July 10, 2017, at about 11:20 p.m., Battlefords RCMP stopped a white Ford F350 in the city after it went through a controlled intersection without stopping. The truck stopped for police, then backed into the front end of a police truck.

In Loving Memory of Phyllis Viola Gray, born February 13, 1926 at North Battleford, SK., passed away June 21, 2017 in Battleford, SK.

Gerald Arthur McGrath October 4, 1941 – June 30, 2017. “Jerry” passed away peacefully at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK with his family by his bedside.

Every year, it seems, the MoneySense listing of “Canada’s Best Places to Live” shortchanges North Battleford. But the city’s ranking for 2017 was particularly awful.

Battlefords RCMP responded to 62 calls for service over the time period Wednesday July 12th 6 a.m. – Thursday July 13th 6 a.m., including but not limited to the following: 6:42 a.m.

Four candidates took the stage Tuesday in Saskatoon for the federal New Democrats’ leadership debate, but it was the ideas of one of them in particular that seemed to fire up the others on stage.
