MELFORT – Métis artist and writer, John Brady McDonald will be presenting at the Kerry Vickar Centre in Melfort.
The Melfort Arts Council is hosting a one-day workshop on Saturday, Sept. 21, that will include an artist's talk with award-winning Nehiyawak-Metis multidisciplinary artist and writer John Brady McDonald, where he will give a presentation and walk-through of his OSAC Exhibition 'Omentum,' explaining each painting and the process of how it was created.
From 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., the Melfort Arts Council invites the public to come learn and make art of your own. The workshop cost is $20 for lunch and materials. If unable to pay the fee, please email [email protected]
This will be followed by an opportunity for participants to create their own paintings, with an introductory lecture by John about contemporary Indigenous art.
Please be advised that this exhibition covers topics such as childhood trauma, racism, murder, residential schools and bullying.
