Bjorkdale News: Last minor hockey game for Jaden Woulfe

Jaden Woulfe started with the Bjorkdale Bruins, moving to Porcupine Blues and then ending her minor hockey career playing with the AA North East Aces as an assistant captain.

BJORKDALE — Jaden Woulfe started playing hockey at a very young age following in her older bother’s footsteps. Her first team was the Bjorkdale Bruins, moving to Porcupine Blues and then ending her minor hockey career playing with the AA North East Aces as an assistant captain.

Jaden had to make some changes this year moving from a defence position that she has played most of her hockey time changing this year to a forward winger. She managed to transition very well into the forward spot but would still be called back to defence depending where she was needed most.

Jaden and her team didn’t have a great record going into playoffs this season but played PA Foxes who were third from the top in the North and beat them in a three game series to move on to the second round of playoffs against Saskatoon Comet Legends who are the top team in the North. The Aces played their hearts out taking the series to game three March 12 in Saskatoon but just couldn’t bring home the win. Bringing an end to Jaden’s minor hockey career. Jaden is not ready to hang up her skates for good and will look for a Rec team to join once she is settled in Saskatoon in the fall for university.

The local rec hockey team, the Bjorkdale Renegades played against the Tisdale Tangas on March 22. Local goalie, Orin Bratton got his first win of the season
