The monarch butterflies are helping to beautify the landscape once again. They are always plentiful when the lilacs are in bloom, as they are now. The blossoms on all the trees, including the garden ones such as apple and the wild ones including saskatoon, chokecherry and pin cherry have been gorgeous this spring. Unfortunately they strong winds we have experienced recently have destroyed many of the blossoms.
Belated wedding anniversary congratulations to Lynn and Murray Blyth, who celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary June 8. We wish them many more years of good health and happiness together.
René Pike is spending some time in Edmonton, Alta. with her daughter Nichole, who recently had elbow surgery. As with many surgeries, one needs help to do a multitude of ordinary activities. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Nicole.
Recent rains have made some roads in the district difficult for travelling. The oil trucks, which travel the roads on a regular basis, make deep ruts in the roads that have little gravel.
