Canada Day festivities enjoyed

After a week of unsettled weather, Canada Day turned out very well for celebrations. Many people from the district attended all or part of the day in Maidstone. They enjoyed the parade, among other things.

Many people from the district attended all or part of the day in Maidstone. They enjoyed the parade, among other things. TWB Construction (Terry and Bill Pike) had a float in the parade and won second prize for their effort. Congratulations, TWB.

Erin McgGilvery drove the museum army Jeep in the parade with Jack Johner as a passenger. Both were members of the armed forces.

Telma (Wesson) Clancy of Eckville, Alta. has been spending some time visiting relatives and friends in the district. She spent some time with her brotherTed Wesson and family.

Kathy and Chris Jacobs and children Kaitlyn and Evan of Salmon Arm, B.C. spent some time last week with Kathy's parents, Eileen and Keith Evans. Karen and Brian Sjoberg and children, Brooke, Nicole and Paige, of Lloydminster also came to visit.

Dana and Laurie Kobes of Strathmore, Alta. stopped in to visit Laurie's mother, Florence Pike, July 1. They were on their way home for a celebration in Edam, Dana's home town.
