Communities in Bloom members inspired

A group of ladies from Waseca travelled to Marshall Friday to attend a Communities in Bloom workshop. The event was intended to promote the organization and encourage people to become involved.

A group of ladies from Waseca travelled to Marshall Friday to attend a Communities in Bloom workshop.

The event was intended to promote the organization and encourage people to become involved. there were presentations by Andrew Exelby, consultant on parks and open spaces, and by Brenda Robinson, whose topic was "getting the best from the most." Both speakers gave listeners much to think about.

As well, Danica Lorer, who is Cultural Days Animateur, spoke on celebrating Culture Days, which will be celebrated Sept. 28 to 30. Following the speakers, all present enjoyed a delicious lunch.

Kenneth and Carol Sutherland are presently enjoying a motor trip to Utah. They are accompanied by Leah and Mathew Sutherland and their children.

Hours at Waseca village office will be Mondays and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for July and August only, except for Aug. 27 and 28, when the office will be closed for holidays.

Arlee Lumgair attended Holy Rosary School, Lloydminster graduation ceremonies last Wednesday and awards day Thursday. Her granddaughter, Mikayla Lumgair, was a member of the graduating clss. Following the awards and presentations, Mikayla was honoured at the home of her mother with a barbecue meal and social time, which included relatives and friends, including her gradmother, Alree.
