The annual Christmas craft and trade sale was held in the Neilburg Community Hall Nov. 20 with 29 tables of items for sale. Door prize winners were Rose Leitheiser, Mary Biggart, Sharon O'Grady , Sheila Graham, Elaine Behm, Tom Poppleton, Sandra Wightman, Joyce Hewson, Linda Walde, Lynn Ducherer, Susanne McDuff, Hayo Heeroma, Glenn Goodfellow and Margaret Chibri.
Sincere sympathy to Otto Koedyk and family on the sudden passing of his father in Holland. Due to these unfortunate circumstances, Otto made an unexpected trip back to his native land and is now safely home in Canada.
A Christmas Eve service will be held at Manitou Evangelical Free Church this year. It will begin at 7 p.m. and all are welcome to attend.
The Christmas pageant, Not So Silent Night, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 at Manitou Evangelical Free Church. All the children involved in the Sunday school program will be part of the play. Come out and enjoy the young actors and actresses and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
The SRC of Neilburg Composite School sent off many boxes to Operation Christmas Child, thanks to the generosity and goodwill of many in the community. Special appreciation to Glenn and Coleen Hegel and the Allan Hewko family as they provided cash donations to help pay for the required shipping. Many people don't realize each box filled needs to contain an extra $7 to cover the costs of sending it overseas to the children in need.
The Grade 12 students at NCS held a homemade macaroni and cheese sale Dec. 3 with all proceeds going to their field trip fund.
The Village Green Park board held their annual fall supper in the Neilburg Community Hall Oct, 6. A large crowd came out to support the first fowl supper of the season. The monies raised through the event will go to the upkeep of the park which is situated in the middle of the village.
