Halloween celebrated with treat bags for kids

Maidstone Museum members welcomed 361 children and adults when they handed out treats on Halloween night.

MAIDSTONE ‑ A meeting of members of the Maidstone Museum was held at the town office Oct. 25 with 10 in attendance.

The museum members hosted a treat night under the canopy of the seniors' centre on Halloween Volunteers decorated the canopy for the occasion. Thanks to volunteers who helped with the setup and take down.

Handing out treats were Cathy Utri and Georgina Bhar, who had filled the bags the day before. Dorothy Schwartz counted the visitors, of which there were 361 including parents and children.

Each child received two bags, one with treats and one with toys. A big thank you to the businesses and individuals who donated items and money to make this event fun and successful.

The museum's next meeting will be Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
