Health setback delays October report

Hi there! Here we are into December. One wonders where October and November went. Time sure flies weather wise, but conditions are better than last year's fall when we were knee-deep in snow (or more).

Hi there! Here we are into December. One wonders where October and November went. Time sure flies weather wise, but conditions are better than last year's fall when we were knee-deep in snow (or more). Let's hope December is nice so we can have safe travel for Christmas.

Unfortunately I didn't get a report in for October as I was in the hospital with pneumonia. I am on oxygen now but doing very well.

However, it was busy here in the Tower during October and November. I hear they had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner here catered by Second to None. Sorry to have missed that.

Also Halloween was great as there was a party with costumes, games, fun and food. It seems there was pumpkin pies for prizes.

There were a number of birthdays celebrated here in November. Nov. 9, Dave Gregory had his 85th with family and friends in the lounge. Then Louise Haubold invited the tenants down in the lounge for coffee and cake for her 88th birthday. Ruby Hrabia had her 85th the same day, which was Nov. 12th. Congratulations to you all and many more.

Nov. 18 there were a number of folks celebrating birthdays for October, November and December. Seated at the head table were; Bob Sarrasin, Maxine Finch, Murray McCrimmon, Ruby Hrabia, Jenny Craig, Louise Haubold, Dave Gregory and Rosemarie Rolheiser.

Many happy returns of the day as always to you all. This is an old saying but still holds true, I think.

Everyone enjoyed a game of Kaiser then bingo and afterwards a delicious lunch.

Now some of our tenants have been visiting or have had company.

Aug. 24 ,Mary Dearborn went to the wedding of her grandson Stephen Dearborn and Marcella Adams in Unity. She also spent the weekend with son Bruce and Bev.

September she spent two days visiting her brother Ralph and Linda Ricketts at their cabin at Crescent Beach at Meeting Lake. She also spent two days visiting with son Garry and Elaine at Maidstone.

For Thanksgiving Mary went to the farm and had a wonderful dinner with her son Blair and Anna.

Ann Ewanchuk had an exciting month this November. Her granddaughter Sheena Ewanchuk (a geologist) got married to Scott Andrews. The wedding was in Riviera Cancun, Mexico. Scott and Sheena live in Vancouver where Scott works at the University of British Columbia. He teaches health, nutrition and body building exercises. Sheena's parents Evhan and Debbie Ewanchuk live in Ft. St. John, B.C. Sheena's brother Michael and wife Keagan played a big part in planning his siste'rs wedding. Sheena's godfather, Roman Ewanchuk and Aunty Liz, from Whitkow were present also. Bohdan and Deleana from St. Walburg were there also.

Anna was happy to hear that they all arrived home safely.

Ada Pasutto spent a week with daughter Joy, Dutch and Rylan in Lloydminster. Rylan, unfortunately broke his collarbone while playing hockey. Ada says he's fine but feeling sore.

Ada had a Sunday supper with daughter Carol and Brian Morrison in Battleford and then watched the Riders win the football game. On their large screen T.V. it was an exciting game.

Nov. 6, my youngest granddaughter Courtney Kendall married Judd Campbell from Saskatoon in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. I was unable to go but my family reported a beautiful wedding on the beach at sunset.

The weather was balmy, so they felt quite a change when they got back to Saskatchewan.

It's nice that we are getting some newcomers moving into our Tower. Welcome to Glen Schwartz, Art and Germain and Ken and Anna Tucker. I'll meet some others later on I am sure.

Get well wishes go out to those that have been ill lately. I know the flu has been going around so hope you all feel better soon. Also to Bev McCrimmon who just had a knee replacement.

I mustn't forget to praise Barb Foot and her helpers who do such a wonderful job in decorating our lounge. The Christmas decorations and tree are just so lovely. Thank you folks.

This will be my last report before Christmas so I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and the very best in the New Year, too.

There is always a lot of entertainment in our Tower, such as The Three Gents, John and Friends, Joan Rice and All and Eagle Hill Band just to name a few. Thanks to Ida Baker who usually arranges these for us. We really appreciate it Ida.
