The JP II Mission Team spent their Easter break in three locations giving of their time and self to better the lives of others and to Be The Change.

The team explored opportunities to learn more about how they can help those locally by making a difference. The team members have volunteered in their own community, working at a soup kitchen and helping various organizations and service groups.

The mission team travelled to the King's Fold Retreat Centre outside of Cochrane, Alta. for two days and hosted the Easter Liturgical celebration. They engaged in faith building activities in preparation for five days of service days at The Mustard Seed in Calgary and Edmonton. The Mustard Seed is a homeless shelter that offers support to those in need of food, clothing and shelter as well as offering friendship and a sense of belonging.

The team spent five days serving, engaging in social justice activities and learning about street life and how everyone can help.

Members of the "Help Build Hope" 2011 mission team are Cassidy Stynsky, Janay Leniuk, Madison Bugler, McKenzie Crockett, Josh Abramson, Brittany Dandefer, Lyndsey Martel, Johanna Nolin, Chantalle Bossaer, Meranda Price, Roxanne Stynsky, Andrea Mackrell and Tom Jesney.

Community leaders who gave of their time, knowledge and faith to make this trip possible are Deb McNabb, Cory Riglin and Janine Leniuk.

The JP II team has announced that in February 2012 they will travel to Peru on a 10-day excursion to take the second step of their journey while studying social justice and engaging in service work in a Third World country.
