TOPS offers moral support

Blaine Lake TOPS No. 5167 chapter held its annual installation of officers following its regular meeting on April 5.

Angie Keryliw, chapter leader, announced the TOPS theme for the next two years is Road to Success.

The declared officers included Angie Keryliw resuming the position of chapter leader, Terry Lavoie as co-leader, Shirley Heinbigner as secretary, Dorothy Ranger as treasurer, Marie Robin as weight recorder and Doreen Konkin as assistant weight recorder.

TOPS is an acronym for Take Off Pounds Sensibly and is a weight loss support group that understands the challenges of losing weight. TOPS meetings are held weekly in Blaine Lake in the Hoeppner Insurance Board Room on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. The evening begins with a confidential weigh-in process prior to the meeting.

TOPS is a non-profit and non-commercial organization that does not sell, promote or endorse any products. The member's physician provides the individual with his/her eating and exercise plan. The TOPS chapter provides support, encouragement and educational opportunities to make healthy, permanent, lifestyle changes. Members are not just supporters at meetings but also between meetings with cards, calls and a reassuring hand of friendship. All members and executive are on a volunteer basis but share the common goal of weight loss which with a support group can be a fun and exciting process.

The Blaine Lake chapter welcomes all individuals whether male or female, to join.
