Students of NBCHS celebrated the return of school by enjoying the sunny day at the provincial park Sept. 8. As per tradition at NBCHS, students were bussed out to the provincial park at 9 a.m. Thursday to join in on the excitement of games and competitions.

The SRC (student representative council) hosted many games such as the great race, a game where teams have to do a variety of activities like magic carpet rides, sprints, leapfrog, orange pass, piggyback rides and needle in a haystack. The first team to complete all these activities won.

Students also did egg, watermelon and marshmallow tosses, hula hoops, a frozen t-shirt contest, slip and slide, a pudding eating contest, scavenger hunts, football, soccer, volleyball, tug of war and more.

As a new addition to welcome day, the SRC rented an inflatable obstacle course which was loved by both students and teachers. The students and staff also enjoyed the free hotdogs, corn and pop provided by the SRC.

The students soaked in the gorgeous weather and prepared to get back to their school work the next day.
