NORTH BATTLEFORD — The Battlefords Agricultural Society will be staging the 134th rendition of the Northwest Territorial Days Parade Aug. 16.

This year’s celebration will begin and end at the Civic Centre.

For those in the parade, the organization is asking all participants to arrive between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., with the parade beginning around 7 p.m.

The rationale for the early arrival is due to the 6 p.m. hard deadline for judging to begin. Any individuals who show up after that time will not be judged.

Entries received after Aug. 8 will be placed at the end of the parade and not be included in the society’s news coverage.

The best entry, as voted on by the society’s president, will be presented with a plaque.

Currently, the 2022 parade route will be posted and finalized on the society’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The Battlefords Agricultural Society has also put out several reminders for the general public and applicants. Among them are ensuring public safety and cleanliness.

For starters, the general public and applicants are being asked not to move any barricades put in place for traffic control and safety. Additionally, any garbage created is asked to be cleaned up on an individual onus.

Candy or any other items are being refrained from being distributed during the parade. If this does occur, the society is warning that participants will be heavily fined.

All entries can be submitted to the Battlefords Agricultural Society Box 668 North Battleford, SK S9A 2Y9. Those interested can also call 306-445-2024 or email jocelyn@agsociety.com.
