78 attend Summer School for the Solo Voice

Speech arts, opera and piano for two, four and eight hands were on the program for a world-class concert Tuesday evening at Third Avenue United Church in North Battleford. Performing were the staff of this year's Summer School for the Solo Voice.

Speech arts, opera and piano for two, four and eight hands were on the program for a world-class concert Tuesday evening at Third Avenue United Church in North Battleford. Performing were the staff of this year's Summer School for the Solo Voice. From left to right are jazz specialist Paul Suchan of Montreal, choirmaster Laurence Ewashko of Ottawa, pianist and arranger Geoffrey Pratley of Cambridge, England, charter faculty member Chris Kelly of Saskatoon, master accompanist and jazz stylist Naomi Piggot of Montreal, collaborative pianist Dr. Laura Loewen of Winnipeg, pianist and performance coach Mark Turner of Saskatoon, pianist Bernadette Fanner of Saskatoon, pianist and accompanist Jaya Hoy of Saskatoon, soprano soloist Karen Charlton of Saskatoon, singer and speech artist Heather Macnab of Maple Creek, concert artist and professor Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber of Pennsylvania and voice teacher Joy McFarlane-Burton of Saskatoon. Not pictured is otolaryngologist Dr. Rick Gore-Hickman who teaches classes each year on the health and care of the vocal instrument. This is the 15th year for the Summer School for the Solo Voice.
