Accused triple murderer Nathaniel Carrier had another scheduled court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court May 8.
Nathaniel Kenneth Carrier, 28, was charged on April 1 with first-degree murder in connection to the deaths of his mother Sandra Henry, 56, father Denis Henry, 56, and son, Bentlee, 7. He is also charged with the attempted murder of his daughter, Kendrah, 5. Kendrah was in critical condition when police found her and she was taken to a Saskatoon hospital before being transported to an Edmonton hospital. She is in stable condition. It is not known at this time if she has been released from hospital.
Prince Albert Police found the grisly scene Sunday, March 29 when they went to a home at 315 McArthur Drive to check on the wellbeing of the family at the request of a family member. Police soon discovered that Denis Carrier’s vehicle was missing, as was Denis and Sandra’s son Nathaniel Carrier. Police later learned that the vehicle was in La Ronge, Sask.
Nathaniel Carrier was arrested two days later by Prince Albert Police without incident.
Police say they believe the homicides occurred on Saturday, March 28.
A death notice for Bentlee was posted on April 3 saying a full obituary would come at a later date. The notice described Bentlee as “a loving, caring, outgoing little man, and he was very selfless. He was always putting himself last. Bentlee will definitely be missed by many loved ones including family, friends, scout family, and school family.”
A death notice for Denis Joseph Carrier was posted on April 4, adding that a full obituary would follow at a later date.
An obituary for Sandra Henry was posted on April 8 by her family.
“Sandra and Denis were childhood sweethearts and were together for 35 plus years,” the obituary reads.
Sandra loved to watch hockey on TV and loved being a hockey mom.
“She was always there to support her boys in hockey and anything that they wanted to do,” continued the obituary. “She was the loudest in the rink and didn’t care what people thought of it.”
Sandra loved baking and making stuff for people to give them around certain holidays. She also enjoyed having fires outside in the fire pit. If she wasn’t at work and the weather was decent you could always find her in the backyard enjoying life around the fire pit and company was always welcome.
“She became a grandmother seven years ago and this brought her much joy in life, hanging out and being there for her grandbabies. She would bake with them and she would take them to the odd Raider game or to the movie theatre. She loved her grandchildren very much and they loved her just as much as she loved them.”
The obituary listed Sandra’s family members, with the exception of her son Nathaniel Carrier, who is charged with her murder.
Carrier is now scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on June 4 to speak to the matter.
