Apparently all did not go according to plan at the North Battleford version of the Amazing Race, which coincided with centennial Canada Day celebrations July 1.
Fifteen teams took part and co-chair Shirley Maze and organizers say they are receiving positive feedback, but in a news release Friday she conceded not everything went according to plan during and after the race.
"None of us had planned an event of this caliber and we know there were glitches - some that we were able to fix and some that we were unable to rectify."
Due to disappointment among some team members organizers decided to refund the $800 per team entry fee.
"We will notify each team, award the appropriate prizes, and refund their money," said Maze.
The Hoof Hearted foursome made up of Sean Fauchon, Joseph Jean Fauchon, Jenni Wuttunee, and James Ryleigh Campbel took the grand prize of $20,000.
Teams came from the Battlefords, Paradise Hill, Cut Knife, Saskatoon, and even as far away as Hollywood, Calif. The event was filmed by SaskTel Max, who will have DVDs available for purchase at a later date.
