SPIRITWOOD — Spiritwood RCMP are investigating attempted fraud by a young woman at three local businesses Wednesday, Dec. 16.
According to police, the business described the actions of a woman, estimated to be about 19 years old, as suspicious.
Businesses reported the woman tried to make large purchases including gift cards with a Visa that they allege had been tampered with. According to the reports the magnetic strip and chip on the card would not work, however, if the number was entered manually, the transactions would have gone through.
The woman is described as Caucasian with a darker skin tone and is approximately 5' 7” tall with a slender build. She had pink hair.
The suspect was driving a white 2013 four-door Dodge Ram with Alberta licence plate BST 9306. The vehicle has black rims, oversize tires, is lifted, has tinted windows and blacked out tail lights.
RCMP say their investigation has revealed this woman is a suspect in fraudulent activity in stores in Southern Saskatchewan, Saskatoon and several places in Alberta.
