Update: Battlefords weekly RCMP report: Three missing persons located

Three missing person investigations are currently active

THE BATTLEFORDS - Update Nov. 1: Battlefords RCMP confirm the three missing teens in the release below have all been located.

Background Oct. 20: Battlefords RCMP responded to 406 calls for service from Wednesday, Oct. 13 through Tuesday, Oct. 19:

• Five missing persons reported. Three investigations are currently active.

  • Josaiha Chickosis, 14, reported missing on Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. Last seen on 28th Street in Battleford. He is described as over six feet tall, about 200 lbs, wearing tan pants and a black sweater. He has short black hair.
  • Shanayah Poundmaker, 12, reported missing on Oct. 19 at 4 p.m., last seen on the 1200 block of 105th Street. She is about 5’4”, 140 lbs, with brown eyes and medium length brown hair. She was last seen wearing a dark hoodie and ripped blue jeans.
  • Julissa Heidel, 15, reported missing on Oct. 19 at 7 pm, last seen earlier that day on 8th Avenue. She has brown eyes, long brown hair, stands about 5’6” and weighs about 110 lbs.

• 11 assault investigations.

  • Police were called to a residence on the 1800 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford at 1:30 p.m. on the 14th of October for a report of an assault. Male suspect was located and arrested on scene. The 23-year-old male is facing charges of assault, uttering threats and fail to comply with probation. The accused and victim were known to each other. The victim was not injured.  The accused has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Battleford Provincial Court later this fall.
  • Deanna Caron, 49, is facing charges of robbery, assault, uttering threats and mischief after an incident at a business on the 1100 block of 102nd Street. The accused is alleged to have assaulted a staff member at a business while attempting to steal items on Oct. 13 at approximately 4 p.m. She fled the scene without the property and was arrested on Oct. 15 by police. She was remanded into custody and made her first appearance in North Battleford court on Oct. 18/

• 11 break and enter investigations.

  •  Attempted break and enter to a business on the 1200 block of 100th Street in North Battleford shortly before 1 a.m. on the 16th of October. Damage sustained to a front window but no entry gained. 
  • Attempted break and enter to a business on the 1100 block of 100th Street in North Battleford some time between Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. Damage to a door located, no entry gained.
  • Break and enter to a residence on 97th Drive in North Battleford on the morning of Oct. 13. 
  • Break and enter to a garage at a rural residence near North Battleford on Oct. 15 shortly after 10 p.m. Victim’s vehicle was reported stolen by suspects. Vehicle was recovered a short time later in Delmas and three subjects were arrested and charged. Kianna Fox, 21, Dillon Pooyak, 30, and Andrew Semaganis,24, are charged with break and enter, theft of a vehicle and flight from police. All three were remanded into custody and made their first appearance in Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, Oct. 18.
  • Residence on the 1500 block of 99th Street in North Battleford broken into some time in the late afternoon of Oct. 18. Various personal items reported stolen.

• Three vehicle thefts.

  • Report of a suspicious male armed with a knife looking through vehicles on St. Laurent Drive in North Battleford shortly after 7 p.m. on Oct. 16.  Tyrell Mosquito was arrested on scene and has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of break and enter tools, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with a release order. He was remanded into custody and made his first appearance in North Battleford Court on Monday Oct. 18. 
  • Blue 2004 Chevrolet Cruze with Saskatchewan License 081LZR stolen from Railway Avenue East. Reported on the morning of Oct. 13 but believed to have occurred between Oct. 7 and Oct. 8.
  • White 1999 Ford F150 with Saskatchewan license 152JJV reported stolen from a rural location near North Battleford on Oct. 18.

• Nine Mental Health Act investigations.

• Six traffic Collisions

• Two individuals charged with impaired driving offences.

• 59 various traffic charges.

• Battleford Fire Department and Battleford RCMP responded to a fire at an unoccupied residence in Delmas shortly after 330 a.m. on Oct. 16. Residence was completely destroyed. No one injured in incident. Cause of fire still under investigation.
