If somebody on the phone is claiming you’ve won a prize but you must pay a processing fee to claim it, then the call’s a scam, say the Tisdale RCMP.
The scammers, who are pretending to be part of an legitimate, well-known organization, then direct the person to send the money to a third-party address or via payment options like Western Union.
The RCMP said they’ve have received several complaints about these scammers and are warning Tisdale residents to be caution about the personal and financial information they release to others.
